The best banh mi that no one seems to be ordering at Baoguette: layers of grilled porkchop nestled with a fried egg, pickled kumquat (which I actually couldn’t taste, but it could be because I was fanning my mouth from the extra spiciness), and a generous helping of julienned carrots, daikon radish, and cilantro. The porkchop addition also satisfies any bun thit nuong cravings I always get when I wander into Vietnamese food territory…
And here I was trying to wean myself off my Baoguette addiction for a while.
