After buying Kenny Shopsin’s Eat Me as Christmas gifts to one another (totally unplanned—but that’s how good we know each other, eh?), and just mentioning over and over again about how we’d make the trek down to Essex Market for brunch one day, Kim and I finally got around to eating at Shopsins last semester. The Pom Pete no longer seems to be on the menu, but it’s a breakfast for champions: jack cheese smothered on grilled garlic bread, with grilled chicken, two poached eggs oozing out yolk, and some tasty pistachio tapenade with a punch.
